I was walking home from work and saw a turtle on the side of the road, crushed shell and all. This took place near West Nyack near the towns water supply. No doubt that he was trying to make it across the street from where the water was to the woods. Humbling to know that there are still turtles around in Rockland but i guess not for long if this continues.

I have questions about the NYC marathon. 1. What qualifies you to run in the marathon? Can anyone join or do you need to meet requirements? 2. Just how long is an actual marathon? I ran a triathalon once and I know that those can vary in ther length. Is it the same for a marathon?

    Thank you!
p.s. I’m loving this summer weather!!!

Just wanted to give a heads up on more bald eagles sighted by the reservoir in West Nyack near Old Mill Road. I have seen them frequently in the a.m. (7 or so) and one swooped at my car today! Weir! not sure if anyone knows about this area for viewing them!
